The Problem

As Georgia Tech students, we are constantly printing. But the system is far from perfect as we saw piles of failed prints near printers and recycling bins filled to the brim with paper.

The Current Journey

Through surveys and observational research around campus, we learned that students reprinted 3 times on average because of misprints, uncertainty, and/or printer issues.

The Current Journey

Through surveys and observational research around campus, we learned that students reprinted 3 times on average because of misprints, uncertainty, and/or printer issues. Preventative measures have been taken, but it typically takes students 1-2 years to significantly reduce paper waste.

User Flow

The user workflow became essential to understand because we wanted to enforce behavioral techniques and habits into the user's interaction with the new platform.

Prototyping

Rather than changing the existing process, our goal was to provide more assurance and confidence through clearer interactions and feedback, informed by ongoing student user feedback.

Evaluation

With the workflow finalized, we prioritized simplicity and ease of use while adhering to Georgia Tech’s brand language. The platform was presented to Georgia Tech’s Office of Information Technology, opening the door to implementation.
